One of the best things about participating in the CAPA Marquee Awards is the opportunity to participate in professional theatre education activities throughout the year!

Workshops

In addition to working with Broadway touring artists, we are also holding a series of workshops with professional, local artists throughout the year.

DESIGNING FOR THE THEATRE

In this workshop taught by CAPA Marquee Awards production manager Stephen Brunson, students will learn about the design process including the skills needed to become a theatrical designer, how to create a design for a production, and how to explain your design process to others. Also included will be a discussion of previous Outstanding Student Designer winning applications. This workshop will also offer students a Q&A session with local designers: sound and lighting designer, Matt Cantelon; lighting and set designer, Brendan Michna; and costumer, designer and stage manager, Hannah Pohlman.
